Insane Bravery
Just refusing to stay down
People tell me I’m brave.
The truth?
It rarely feels like bravery.
It feels like there isn’t another option.
For decades I have navigated life (perhaps with undiagnosed AuDHD?)
Rejection.
Abuse.
Misunderstandings.
Shame.
Feeling like I was the problem.
So how do you keep going when life has repeatedly convinced you that you’re a pile of shit?
You get back up.
Again.
And again.
One of my greatest tools isn’t productivity.
It’s faith.
When I have nothing left, I get down on my knees. I give thanks. I pray.
Then I ask God to help me get back up.
I still believe in goodness.
Not because life has always been good to me, but because I refuse to let the worst people I met decide who I become.
To me, that’s (AuDHD) strength.
We don’t keep going because we’re fearless. We keep going because stopping was never an option.
Faith can be a nervous system reset when nothing else works.
Choosing kindness after years of pain is an act of courage.
Our sensitivity isn’t weakness. It’s proof our hearts still work.
Real strength isn’t never falling. It’s getting back up, one more time than life knocks you down.
Maybe that’s what insane bravery really is.
Not being fearless.
Just refusing to stay down.
